How may we develop new technological arrangements to support groups of users? This work requires rich interaction with a diverse set of disciplines. It also involves methodological and design contributions and the development of novel techonologies and infrastructures, platforms and applications.
Dr Steffen Staab
Dr. Steffen Staab is associate professor for information systems at
the University of Koblenz-Landau. He studied at the Universities of
Erlangen-Nuremberg, Pennsylvania and Freiburg and has worked at the
Universities of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. He has co-founded Ontoprise,
a leading Semantic Web company. His research interest lie in
foundations and applications of the Semantic Web. Among others, he has
edited the "Ontology Handbook" and "Annotation for the Semantic Web".
He has coordinated the EU IST project "SWAP - Semantic Web and Peer-to-peer",
which has recently won a software innovation award. His current projects
deal with semantic grid, semantic multimedia, knowledge management and
knowledge acquisition.
