CLUK'06 will be held at the Knowledge Media Institute located on the 4th Level of the Berril Building at The Open University Campus in Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire MK7 6AA UK. Milton Keynes is conveniently located for travel by train or road from various parts of the country. Nearest airport is Luton (bus service to Milton Keynes), and there is a train service from Birmingham International Airport.

The closest airport to Milton Keynes is Luton. You may also come from Heathrow, Stansted (not recommended), or Birmingham. We recommend transport links that bring you to Milton Keynes Central train station as it is easy to get a taxi to the Open University (fare approximately £7, 10 minutes). Note that some of the airport connections will take you to Milton Keynes Coachway. The University is about four miles from Milton Keynes Central Station, on the London (Euston) to Birmingham line. MK Central is an Intercity stop. Trains are frequent and the journey time from Euston takes approximately 60 minutes. Virgin Trains run the faster intercity services, and Silverlink run the slightly slower local services. At London Euston train station ask for a ticket for all trains, allowing you to use both Virgin and Silverlink, which will cost approximately £20.50 return (for trains leaving after 08.30). Train timetables are here. When you get to Milton Keynes Central Station, you will need to get a taxi to the Open University. This will cost approximately £7 and take 10 minutes.
The Open University is at Walton Hall, in Milton Keynes which is midway between London and Birmingham, and Oxford and Cambridge. The OU is sited on the South East side of Milton Keynes. It is close to Junctions 13 and 14 of the M1
From M1, Junction 14: Follow signs for Milton Keynes, taking A509 to first roundabout (Northfield roundabout). Take first left A5130 signposted to Woburn Sands for two miles. At next roundabout (Kingston roundabout) with BP garage on left, take third exit signposted A5/Aylesbury/Dunstable/Walnut Tree/Universities. Go straight over the next roundabout (Walnut Tree). At the following roundabout (Walton), turn right, then first left for the East entrance to the campus. Main reception is located in the Berrill Building.
From M1, Junction 13: Follow signs for Milton Keynes, taking A421 for 3 1/2 miles to the Kingston roundabout. Take second exit onto Groveway (H9), signposted A5/Aylesbury/Dunstable/Walnut Tree/Universities. Go straight over the next roundabout (Walnut Tree). At the following roundabout (Walton), turn right, then first left for the East entrance to the campus. Main reception is located in the Berrill Building.
There are always taxis waiting outside the entrance of the train station. The fare is approximately
£7.00 and the journey time about 10 minutes.
