Lord Rooker discusses community impact of KMi
Peter Scott, Wednesday 15 Dec 2004Today, a senior government minister visited KMi to discuss our programme for outreach into the community. Rt Hon the Lord Rooker, Minister of State for Regeneration & Regional Development (ODPM) was visiting the Open University to understand the significance of our work within our local region and beyond to all of the UK.
Coming to KMi he met with Chris Dunkley (Director of the Milton Keynes Enterprise Hub) and Peter Scott (Head of the Centre for New Media, KMi).
Later on that day he was introduced to the Cassini/Huygens Project by Professor John Zarnecki of the Faculty of Science, and to the Universities for Milton Keynes group by Professor Allan Cochrane and Professor David Vincent. He finished his visit with the Vice Chancellor, Brenda Gourley.
