KMi Showcase @ CeBIT 2005

Peter Scott, Monday 14 Mar 2005

KMi technologies are being showcased live, right now, at CEBIT 2005 on stand C29 in Hall 6. Sitting within the Prolearn Project, and alongside some key technology partners, KMi technologies are being presented to visitors to this huge event. Alongside our usual materials and demonstrations, the luckiest of visitors are being presented with a Prolearn “memory stick” and the new KMi Technologies CD (issue 0503). There are simply too many interested parties to give a CD and stick to everyone!

The world’ leading event for information technology, telecommunications, software and services, the CeBIT technology fair, is now running in Hannover, Germany (10-16 March 2005). With 6k+ exhibitors over a display area of 300k+ square meters CeBIT is a big place to wander around! But, this year we are very pleased that some of its half million visitors will be able to engage with Open University technologies this year.

On the Prolearn stand, popular highlights are innovative KMi technologies like Hexagon and FlashMeeting that are so very closely involved with the EU Network of Excellence Prolearn’ Interactive Media work. When they get the CD home, visitors will also be able to get moving with Buddyspace, Magpie and Compendium.

Pictured in the accompanying image is Viviane Reding, the European Commissioner for Education and Culture. She was speaking with Til Becker (Fraunhofer FIT) today about the Prolearn network and the key concepts and technologies that we share in this vision of the future of Professional Learning.
