KMi Collaborates in Global Film Festival

Chris Valentine, Thursday 3 May 2007

In March, KMi’s Ben Hawkridge lent his expertise on ADSL and webcasting technologies to a unique event. Documentary film The Planet was simultaneously screened in cinemas around the world. After the showing, a panel of leading environmental scientists, chaired by Dr Mike Bullivant, answered questions from around the world from the Berrill Lecture Theatre. Questions came in to the panel from places including Egypt, Sydney, Melbourne, Beijing, Oxford, Luxembourg, Belgium and Holland.

OXDOX:MK festival director Marie Wright said "Milton Keynes became the first city in the UK – and we believe worldwide – to demonstrate the new technology available to cinemas … This was a technology first in a city and University widely acknowledges as a major hub for emerging technologies."
