KMi Director, Professor Peter Scott spoke today to the Technological Education Conference (IAT TEC 2013) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This event attracted more than 1000 educators not only from the UAE but also from different parts of the globe including the US, UK and GCC countries. For the first time since its launch in 2010, IAT TEC was moderated and organized by Emirati students from different Applied Technology High Schools (ATHS) across the country.
The keynote took inspiration from the OU's innovations with Apple technologies to highlight some of the new directions in tablet and mobile learning interactivity which are now available to the iGeneration in the UAE. After the keynote, Professor Scott joined a panel including Dr. Najla Al Naqbi from Abu Dhabi Educational Council (ADEC), Ahmed Ashour from Microsoft Gulf, Rehab Rajab from IAT and two of ATHS students, Iman Al Hosani, ATHS Abu Dhabi Girls, and Zayed Al Hosani, ATHS Abu Dhabi Boys. The panel discussed topics on the future of technology to answer the question ‘What’s Next in iEducation?’
