Scaling-up community care with MK:Communities

Alessio Antonini, Monday 9 Jan 2023

On the 24th of January 2023, the Woughton Community Council is hosting an event for local volunteer groups showcasing how the MK:Community App can be used to support activities in the neighbourhood. The app is the result of a joint effort, a co-design activity started in October 2021 with WCC, the SME Spirocco and KMi in the context of the H2020 GATEKEEPER project. The app enables local residents to request and answer requests about activities of daily living like walking together or driving to doctor appointments. Now, the App latest version includes an "offer" functionality for groups that organize socialization and other forms of activities. The event will describe the first application of this functionality with the Tinkers Bridge Resident Association followed by a hands-on session to support the setup and use of the app for both residents and organizations.
