KMi now has its first LTN Business Fellow
Stefan Rueger, Thursday 17 Jan 2008
Earlier this month Prof Stefan Rueger became KMi’s first London Technology Network Business Fellow. Stefan’s responsibilities include raising an inventory of technologies and educational activities for the Centre of Research in Computing, identifying a wide range of opportunities for interacting with industry and facilitate university-business interactions.
The London Technology Network (http://www.ltnetwork.org/) promotes innovative collaborations and aims to stimulate technology-intensive innovation between universities and business. To do this, it has created a network of over 100 university-based research experts linking 6,000 academics across London, the East and South East, to map their research in order to provide technology solutions to business needs. The London Technology Network also runs the London Innovation Relay Centre, which is aimed at stimulating the exchange of technologies across Europe, and promoting London’s business activities to the wider European market. London IRC is part of a trans-European network of more than 70 centres spanning 31 countries.
Each month LTN and the London Innovation Relay Centre holds networking events with specific themes to help promote and assist the transfer of innovative technologies between companies and academics (based across London, the East and South-East). Stefan solicits contributions from CRC for these events and represents KMi’s and the Department of Computing’s research within these areas. The next LTN event is on Climate modelling risk management and adaption (link below).
