The Out There and In Here project receives funding
Trevor Collins, Monday 26 Oct 2009
The Out There and In Here (OTIH) project has been awarded funding from the Research Councils UK Digital Economy Programme under the ‘Research in the Wild’ call. The project team, led by Dr Anne Adams from IET, will develop the use of mobile technologies and interactive tabletop displays to support collaborative group work between field and lab based geology students.
The team at the OU comprises Anne Adams (IET), Stephen Swithenby (COLMSCT CETL / Science), Trevor Collins (KMI), Sarah-Jane Davies (Science) and Yvonne Rogers (CS). They will be collaborating with Abigail Sellen from Socio-Digital Systems Group at Microsoft Research, Cambridge and Dan Phillips from The SEA, Brighton. The project, due to begin around Christmas 2009, will build on previous work carried out in the ERA project, for supporting remote collaboration, and the shareIT project, which investigated the use of shareable technologies.
