KMi Continues its Close Relationship with AIMSA

John Domingue, Thursday 16 Sep 2010

The AIMSA conference series has provided a biennial forum for the presentation of AI research and development since 1984, and is the premier event of its kind in the Balkan Region. The conference, which is always held in Bulgaria, covers a wide variety of topics in Artificial Intelligence and related disciplines and also provides conduit for the exchange of scientific ideas between Central/Eastern Europe and the rest of the world. Previously, AIMSA Keynotes and Conference Chairs have come from the KMi senior team. For this year the Opening Keynote "Semantic Web Services as a Core Component of the Future Internet" was given by John Domingue. In the talk he covered the research carried out in the SOA4All project which contributes to the European Union’s Billion Euro Future Internet research programme. Other Keynotes included Atanas Kiryakov who covered the principles underlying his semantic company’s software which was responsible for driving the BBC 2010 World Cup’s website. AIMSA 2010 was sponsored by ECCAI, the European Coordinating Committee for Artificial Intelligence.
