Last week saw the premier event for EU funded research ICT 2010 which was held in Brussels, had over 4000 participants and covered the multi-billion Euro ICT Programme. The 3-day conference was opened by Mr. Yves Leterme, the Belgian Prime Minister, Vice-President Silvana Koch-Mehrin of the European Parliament, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Neelie Kroes, European Commissioner for the Digital Agenda and Christian Reinaudo, CEO of Agfa-Gervaert. The majority of the technical discussion at ICT events takes place within networking sessions and KMi’s was involvement in these included invited talks at: "Middleware Services for Context Prediction and Proactive Adaptation" and "Future Internet Standardisation"; and chairing a panel on "International Cooperation on Future Internet: Perspectives and a Roadmap" from John Domingue. The personal highlight of the conference though was SOA4All getting the runner-up prize for Best Stand. No mean feat given that that over 200 research stands were present at the event.
