Over 100,000 views for Future Internet Video
John Domingue, Tuesday 15 Mar 2011This week saw the Future Internet video produced within the Service Web 3.0 project reach over 100,000 views on YouTube, making it by far the top YouTube hit for the search term ‘Future Internet’. The popularity of the video is in part due to the fact that it has been embedded in a number of portals and referenced in a range of places. For example, the Minister of Economy of Armenia embedded the video on their website for Armnet Awards which recognizes the development of web technologies. The video has also been embedded within a major Chinese video portal site and was for some time up at a startup website in the US. In August, 2010, the video was rated as one of the top 10 YouTube videos about the Internet of Things by ReadWriteWeb. The video regularly appears on exhibition stands at large ICT events and has also been used to support internal staff training within the EU Commission. As well as being part of the Service Web 3.0 project KMi also supplied one of the video presenters.
