The EUCLID project finished last week with its final review and was given an ‘Excellent’ ranking (the highest) by our reviewers and our EU Project Officer. EUCLID was a two year Coordination and Support Action tasked with producing learning materials for professionals who wish to learn about Linked Data.

Over the lifetime of the project we produced a rich mixture of high quality materials including slides, webinars and eBooks available in a variety of formats including HTML, ePub and for Kindle and iPads. All learning resources have been published with a liberal open licence promoting take up.

As can be imagined, all of the reviewers comments were positive with the comprehensiveness of the eBooks, the use of dissemination channels and our exploitation strategies were highly commended.

From an OU perspective follow ups from EUCLID include the LiveStream work that is now being conducted with large numbers of science and social science students over the summer and the FORGE project which we coordinate. FORGE will apply the EUCLID results to turn large-scale European Internet experimental facilities into a world-class learning resource.

All in all it has been a very enjoyable two years and I would echo the final words of the review given by our EU Project Officer: “It was a great pleasure for me to work with you all and I learnt a lot.”
