Two KMi Professors Feature In The Top 25 most Cited Scholars List

Harith Alani, Professor of Web Science and Enrico Motta Professor of Knowledge Technologies, were ranked 7 and 24 respectively out of-the top 2000 scholars in their AI field.  AMiner produces the rankings by drawing on a variety of sources available on the web, including semantic-based profiles, bibliographic data. 

We are also proud to say that three KMi alumni, appeared I the list, they were:

Dr Hassan Saif, rated 13 on the list, was awarded a PhD degree at The Open University, and currently working at HSBC as a senior data scientist focusing on Research Analytics and Finance Crime Threat Mitigation.

Prof Yulan He, ranked 15 was a Research Fellow at KMi working on Sentiment analysis and opinion mining.  She is now Professor of Computer Science at University of Warwick.

Dr Andriy Nikolov,  ranked at number 94 Andriy joined KMi as a PhD student and was awarded his doctorate in 2010. He is now a Knowledge Graph Engineer at AstraZeneca.

The AI 2000 Most Influential Scholar Annual List presents the world’s top-cited research scholars from the fields of artificial intelligence.  The list is produced by the AMiner project led by Dr Jie Tang at Tsinghua University and aims to provide comprehensive search and mining services for AI researcher social networks.  Their website states:

 ‘Currently, the academic network includes more than 6,000 conferences, 3,200,000 publications, 700,000 researcher profiles. The system attracts users from more than 200 countries and receives >200,000 access logs per day. The top five countries where users come from are United States, China, Germany, India, and United Kingdom.’

Congratulations Harith, Enrico and Hassan, Yulan and Andriy, you are ‘ones to watch’ and you have set the bar high for you colleagues over the next decade!
