Athena Swan Award Success!
Jane Whild, Tuesday 8 May 2018The Knowledge Media Institute is delighted to be among the successful applicants announced by The Equality Challenge Unit for the November 2017 award round. Our Athena SWAN Bronze Award will be presented at an awards ceremony to be held at Swansea University on 16 July 2018.
Dr Miriam Fernandez, who led KMi’s submission said “This is fantastic news. I’d like to thank each and every member of KMi for making us an institution who cares and fights for diversity and equality. Special thanks go to our Athena Swan team for all their amazing efforts so far on the proposal and on all the activities that have been happening in the lab to achieve our goals.”
KMi Director, John Domingue added ”Congratulations to Miriam and her entire team on this achievement! Since it was founded KMi has embraced diversity through bringing researchers to work with us from across the globe. All the lab members are behind the Athena Swan initiative 100%, and look forward to consolidating and building on this Bronze Award going forward.”
