KMi and SlideWiki at EDULEARN18
Alexander Mikroyannidis, Friday 13 Jul 2018The 10th anniversary of the annual International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies (EDULEARN) took place on July 2-4 in the beautiful island of Mallorca. EDULEARN is one of the largest international education conferences for lecturers, researchers, technologists and professionals from the educational sector. After 10 years, it has become a reference event, where more than 800 experts from 80 countries got together to present their research and share their knowledge on teaching and learning methodologies and educational innovations.
Alexander Mikroyannidis represented KMi and the SlideWiki project by presenting a paper on an open education case study conducted with the use of the SlideWiki platform. With the SlideWiki platform, the effort of producing and reusing highly-structured remixable educational content can be crowdsourced and therefore widely shared. SlideWiki employs crowdsourcing methods in order to support the open education community in authoring, sharing, reusing and remixing open courseware. Alexander’s paper presents a case study of this platform carried out in the context of open education and informal learning and reports on the feedback received thus far from members of the open education community.
