Thursday 8 Nov 2018

KMi’s Senior Technology Officer Paul Alexander recently attended the Gartner Symposium/IPxpo 2018 in Orlando, Florida during the period of 14-18 October 2018. The conference is held annually and allows thousands of CIOs and senior IT executives to come together to explore and discuss strategic trends and technologies that are shaping the future of IT and business. These included data & analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, culture, customer experience, cybersecurity and many more.

While in Orlando, Paul was also invited to sit as a member of a Client Advisory Board for Park Place Technologies who have been a strategic supplier to KMi for many years. The aim of the advisory board is to understand and inform on trends and future technologies and how the industry will shape in the years to come. As part of the Client Advisory Board, Paul led an IoT (Internet of Things) discussion and presented some use cases where KMi has combined its research of Blockchain and IoT technologies.

In addition to the above, multiple networking opportunities arose, as well as the opportunity to attend some key sessions at the Gartner Symposium and bring back plenty of new ideas and innovations for Paul’s teams in KMi to digest.
