KMi at the 2020 International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC)
KMi Reporter, Thursday 29 Oct 2020Most conferences this year are being held virtually and the 2020 International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC), the most prestigious international venue for research on the Semantic Web and Linked Data, is no different. Over the years, KMi has been one of the top contributors to the conference and this tradition continues in 2020, with members of the lab chairing tracks at the conference, presenting a paper in the Resource Track, as well as contributing to the Poster Session. In particular, members of KMi’s Intelligent Systems and Data Science (ISDS) group will present the following paper:
Dessi, D., Osborne, F., Reforgiato Recupero, D., Buscaldi, D., Motta, E., and Sack, H. (2020) AI-KG: An Automatically Generated Knowledge Graph of Artificial Intelligence. In The Semantic Web – ISWC 2020, Springer. The paper introduces the Artificial Intelligence Knowledge Graph (http://w3id.org/aikg), which includes 1.2M statements extracted from 333K research publications in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The graph includes 5 types of entities (tasks, methods, metrics, materials, and others), which are linked by 27 relations. It has been designed to support a variety of intelligent services for analysing and making sense of the research dynamic, providing insights about AI research to both researchers and practitioners, as well as funding bodies and policy makers.
Members of the ISDS group will also present the following contribution to the poster session:
Angioni, S., Salatino, A.A., Osborne, F., Reforgiato Recupero, D. and Motta, E. (2020). The AIDA Dashboard: Analysing Conferences with Semantic Technologies. The Semantic Web – ISWC 2020.
The poster presents the AIDA Dashboard, a tool providing in-depth analytics about scientific conferences, which can be used to explore the evolution of a conference over the years and assess its quality and impact.
Dr. Miriam Fernandez, member of the Social Data Science Group, will present at the Vision Track. Ten speakers have been selected for this innovative track to present their vision for the Semantic Web. The track aims to be challenging, forthright and controversial and it aims to stimulate the community and the conference.
In addition to the above contributions, Prof Harith Alani is co-chairing the ISWC Doctoral Consortium this year. He also chaired the Semantic Web Distinguished Dissertation Award, and will be the General Chair of ISWC in 2021.
