KMi wins Green Storage Solution of the Year
Monday 6 Jul 2009
At the recent "Storage Awards 2009", the Knowledge Media Institute was presented with an award for Green Storage Solution of the Year. Paul Alexander (KMi’s IT & Systems Manager) represented KMi and received the award along with John Greenwood of NCE Computer Group who were responsible for implementing the solution with KMi technical staff.
The setup used by KMi is a combination of DataCore SANmelody (the Storage Area Network virtualisation software) and VMware Virtual Infrastructure (the server virtualisation software) which replaced the previous configuration last year.
KMi is continuing to push towards greener IT solutions in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint with the happy knock-on effect of reducing operating costs related to Information Technology. To be recognised by the storage industry in this way is a big achievement of which we are very proud.
