22,000 Downloads for Future Internet Book

Wednesday 30 Jan 2013

We have just been informed by Springer that our book: The Future Internet: Achievements and Technological Promises, published in 2011, has now had over 22,000 chapter downloads. The book, whose chief editor is John Domingue, covers the main technical areas related to the Future Internet, a European initiative which brings together over 150 projects under Challenge 1 with a combined budget of over 5,00M Euros.

The areas covered in this text include architectural and socio-economic issues, as well as trust, security, networking, services and multi-media content. These contents represent the results of the Future Internet Assembly, a twice-yearly gathering of EU Future Internet projects, for which John Domingue served as a steering committee member for four years.  The book contains a forward from the Directors of Converged Networks and Services and Emerging Technologies and Infrastructures, Luis Rodriguez-Rosello and Mario Campolargo. Following an agreement with Springer the volume is published online under open access conditions.
