KMi PhD student kicks off new Jisc blog on Open Metrics
Tuesday 28 Nov 2017A new blog launched yesterday by Jisc focuses on their Open Metrics project which aims to support the development of new research metrics. Following the publication of The Metric Tide report in 2015 there is increasing awareness within the sector of a need for new research evaluation metrics that move beyond the limitations of traditional citation-based metrics.
The launch included a piece that introduces David Pride, a PhD. research student at KMi. David’s current research looks at the large scale evaluation of research articles using the publications’ full-text.
