The Open Education Global 2019 conference: Open Education for an Open Future

Wednesday 4 Dec 2019

The Open Education Global Conference (OE Global 2019) took place in Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy on November 26-28. The OE Global conference is the most internationally diverse conference devoted exclusively to open education, attracting researchers, practitioners, policy makers, educators and students from more than 35 countries to discuss and explore how Open Education advances educational practices around the world.

Alexander Mikroyannidis represented KMi and delivered a hands-on workshop entitled “Decentralising education using blockchain technology”. The session was highly interactive, with participants discussing a variety of scenarios that decentralise education and place the lifelong learner in control of the learning process and its associated data via the use of Blockchain technology. The outcomes of this workshop will feed into the requirements of the QualiChain pilot conducted by the Open University.
