Voice of the Future 2021
Tuesday 18 May 2021
Shannon Cameron and Sophie Alexander recenly took part in Voice of the Future 2021.
Shannon and Sophie worked with Dr Pallavi Anand to develop questions and attended the event. It was a great team effort.
Questions were posed to members of the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee, including it chair Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, Carol Monaghan MP, Dawn Butler MP and Katherine Fletcher MP.
A recording of the event is available here (Shannon appears at 16:12)
Shannon asked the panel : “BBC’s Blue Planet II brought plastic pollution to the attention of the public, and great progress was underway to reduce single use plastics in homes and businesses. The COVID19 pandemic has interrupted and reversed much of this progress, with increases in single use plastics for personal protection, testing kits and take-out food and drinks orders.. How will the government tackle the plastic pollution pandemic and get us back on track when it is safe to do so?”
