5 Big Questions About the Universe

Thursday 14 Apr 2022

Last year, the BBC broadcast “The Universe” TV series, which several SPS Astronomy staff were academic consultants for. As a spin-off from that, Professor Andrew Norton helped the OU Broadcast unit make a “BBC ideas” film called “How big is our Universe?” . This is a homage to the famous “Powers of Ten” film produced by the Eames Corporation in the 1970s. The video has been nominated for a Learning on Screen Award at a ceremony coming up on 28th April.

Now – as a spin-off from that, Andrew has helped the OU Broadcast unit make a follow-up infographic called “5 big questions about the Universe”.  To go with that, Andrew has also recorded a narrated commentary (12.5 minute video) explaining it in a bit more detail, which you can view on our YouTube Channel.
