Congratulations to Peter Scott, President-Designate of Athabasca University!

Wednesday 13 Oct 2021

We are excited to hear that Prof Peter Scott, who was KMi Director from 2007 to 2015, has been announced as President-designate of Athabasca University.

In the announcement video, Peter said, “AU’s Imagine plan has created a fantastic new platform for change, so I will be joining a team that is already well on its way along this journey.”

On hearing the news, KMi’s current director John Domingue reflected that: “Peter said during our 20th Anniversary Symposium “The only thing you need to do to make Knowledge Media happen is to have a great team”, I couldn’t agree more, but you also need an inspirational leader, which we certainly had in Peter. Peter, KMi are so proud of your achievements – Athabasca University will thrive under your leadership.”

Peter left KMi to join the University of Technology Sydney, Australia where he is currently Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education).

Professor Scott will take up the role of10th president of Canada’s Online University on 4th Jan 2022 and the KMi Team wish him every success in his new role.
