The British are coming...
Teresa Connolly, Wednesday 11 May 2011 | Annotate
KMi was recently represented at the OpenCourseWare Consortium's (OCWC) 10th anniversary conference held in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Teresa Connolly (KMi), Elpida Makriyannis (IET) and Andy Lane (MCT) ran a workshop centred on the OERopoly game. OERopoly was used as a mediating artefact to raise awareness about Open Educational Resources. The workshop was successful as well as fun (!) and as result of great interest in the OERopoly game it is now being repurposed for this week's Open Michigan commemorative event (12th May) by Emily Plunkett, University of Michigan, who attended the OCWC workshop. The game has also been localised to reflect UK OER projects and will be presented in Manchester 11th May 2011 at the UK OER 11 conference.
In addition Elpida and Teresa have written a chapter for the forthcoming KMi publication: "Collaborative Learning: Open Educational Resources" edited by Ale Okada, Teresa Connolly & Peter Scott due for publication this summer.
