DARPA Best Paper Prize awarded to KMi Researcher
John Domingue, Friday 19 May 2006Roxana Belecheanu a Research Fellow in KMi has just accepted the "Best Industrial and Applied Paper" award from DARPA. The award was given to Roxana for her paper "Commercial Applications of Agents: Lessons, Experiences and Challenges" presented at the Fifth International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (AAMAS06) in Hakodate, Japan. Co-written with her AgentLink colleagues the paper compares the successful deployment of agent technology in a diverse range of industry sectors, providing a number of key lessons on how to commercialize agent technology. Roxana is currently working in KMi on the SUPER project which will combine semantic web services technology with business process modeling tools to semi-automate business process management. One of Roxana�s main roles in the project is to deploy the resulting SUPER technology within the Spanish telecommunications company Telefonica.
