A busy day for KMi at Open Unlimited
Trevor Collins, Monday 6 Jul 2009
KMi staff demonstrated a wide range of projects to visitors at this weekend’s Open University "Open Unlimited event" when the university threw open its doors to the public, friends, students and staff. The KMi stalls were kept busy all day with a steady flow of visitors interested to find out what we’re up to. KMi was based in the ‘Concept Zone’, illustrating how emerging technologies may be used by the OU in the future and showing how the university is open to people, places, methods and ideas. Demonstrations by KMi staff, resplendent in their pink hats, included the Semantic Web and Semantic Web Services; Multimedia and Information Systems; New Media Systems; and Social Software.
