mEducator Data set is in the Linked Open Data Cloud
John Domingue, Wednesday 5 Oct 2011The "mEducator Linked Educational Resources" store is one of the outcomes of the mEducator project and is among a number of datasets which recently were included into the Linked Open Data cloud. The dataset contains data about educational Web resources (over 23.000 triples), mainly from the biomedical field, which was partially contributed by the 15 partners of the mEducator consortium and partially harvested and enriched from existing Web repositories. Automated enrichment techniques are used to extend and structure the naturally poorly structured metadata available on the Web and to establish links with other well-known linked open data sources, such as DBpedia or domain-specific vocabularies such as MESH or SNOMED. The dataset was created under the lead of The Open University and the L3S Research Center, Germany in collaboration with several core partners, namely Democritus University of Thrace (Greece), Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), the CNR Institute for Educational Technology and the University degli studi di Catania.
