Teaching Award for Student Connections Team

Kate Dungate, Thursday 30 Apr 2015

Kevin Quick, Jon Linney, Ben Hawkridge and Chris Valentine received an OU Teaching Award at the Charter Day on 23 April 2015.

The Faculty of Social Sciences launched Student Connections in May 2014 in order to bring OU students and academics together to build a mutually beneficial community. Student Connections is made up of numerous elements including an annual online conference where students can connect with each other via a range of media; other elements or ‘mini-connections’ (such as Activate sessions, The Podmag and This Student Life) are all aimed at enhancing the overall student experience.

Visitors not only watched the event, broadcast from the KMi Podium using the Livestream multicast service, but could also take part through the live chat and interactive widgets built by Kevin Quick and Jon Linney.
