MSG source code available
Alex Little, Friday 02 February 2007 | Annotate
The source code for MSG is now available for developers to download and install on their own servers.
MSG is a Web 2.0 application that allows you to access basic Instant Messaging functionality within a standard web browser. This makes it ideal for use in environments where software can not be installed, or on networks where Internet access is restricted by firewalls and proxy servers, or where performing the installation is just cumbersome. To see MSG in action please register on LabSpace and enrol on a course (all for free!), you'll see the MSG section on the left hand side.
Details of where to get the source code from and instructions on installation, plus details of Moodle integration is available from the developer section of the MSG website.
Any feedback on the installation process or how the instructions could be improved is much appreciated. Please send any comments to: kmi-msg@open.ac.uk
