NoTube Future TV research goes Seoul

John Domingue, Wednesday 15 Dec 2010

Last week saw the first Open Workshop on Future Television held by the NoTube consortium in Seoul, Korea. During this very successful, public half-day event, the NoTube team members – KMI represented by Stefan Dietze – showcased their innovative solutions centred around the topics Linked Data, Semantic Services and Future Television. The talks were met with outstanding interest by more than 200 attendees from academia and major global technology companies. The success of the event can also be attributed to the exceptional organisation by Korean Telecom (KT) – one of the affiliated NoTube partners – who provided simultaneous translators as well as pre-translated workshop proceedings and handouts to make sure language boundaries proved no obstacle during the lively discussions. An additional 2-day project meeting at the premises of KT was also used to discuss the input from the workshop and its future impact on the overall project roadmap.
