Vote Now Closed: Vote for the OU in ‘Fertilise the Future’ shortlist
Tuesday 1 Dec 2020
The OU’s Floodplain Meadows Partnership is in the running to secure up to £180,000 of funding in Ecover’s Fertilise the Future challenge and we need the help of the OU family to win!
Fertilise the Future provides grants for innovative green research and projects that can make a real difference to our planet. After making the shortlist, our Floodplain Meadows project is now going head to head with other eco-pioneers in a ‘People’s Choice’ vote on social media.
Securing the funding would allow the Floodplain Meadows Partnership team and partners at Thames Valley Long Mead Restoration Project and the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust to continue maintaining, restoring and researching Britain’s important and ever-decreasing floodplain habitats. The project team, led by Emma Rothero and Professor David Gowing, hope to enhance up to 100 hectares of intensively farmed land along the Thames into species-rich meadows.
