Towards a framework for evaluation of sensemaking support for information artefacts
This event took place on Monday 01 December 2003 at 12:30

ABSTRACT: This research is concerned with the challenges that organizations face in interpreting and responding to changes in their complex environments. Specifically, we seek a characterisation of the persistent kinds of problems they have to tackle, the ?sensemaking? processes which these problems provoke, and the tools that they use to support this.

This talk will include introduction of the research background - 'wicked problems', 'sensemaking', and 'information artefacts'. Subsquently, this talk will outline a framework that will be used to analyze the sensemaking affordance of an 'information artefact'. Finally, the future work of this research will be sketched out.
