Shifting Power: Stories of Artificial Intelligence and Justice
This event took place on Tuesday 29 October 2024 at 11:30

[ONLINE ONLY] In 2022, I received a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and justice. Our research program has explored how global power asymmetries impact different parts of the AI pipeline, the dominant narratives around AI that persist in the literature and the media, and the alternative narratives that emerge from communities most impacted by negative downstream impacts of this technology. In this talk, I will be reflecting on the first two years of my Future Leaders Fellowship, sharing some insights from the project so far, some personal stories about what researching this topic means to me, and some indications of future research for which feedback and collaboration are welcome.
