I am a Senior Research Scientist at VTT - Technical Research Center of Finland, KIPS - Knowledge Intensive Products and Services. Since Nov 2013 I am happy to be a visiting researcher at KMi, joining Enrico Mottas research group.
Adaptable service technologies, middleware, and semantic technologies applied to smart pervasive computing environments are the main topics in my current and past research projects, a few most recent ones to mention are FP7 Smart Products, ITEA Guarantee, and ICT Lab My-Sleep.
Currently I am working in two EU projects, FP7 CONCEPT and FP7 COnCORDE.
CONCEPT project is about developing of a semantically driven collaboration framework dedicated to assist professional product designers during the early stages of the product design process. Number of research and technological challenges are to be addressed here, including the semantic integration of collaborative tools and knowledge, effective methods for interaction among distributed teams, group awareness & knowledge organization and the support for using of metaphors and associations for conceptual design. This project is a joy.
In COnCORDE project we are looking for Decision Support System and semantic technologies to improve preparedness and interoperability of medical services during an emergency situations. This is a serious stuff but its a joy too.
