The Open University’s Knowledge Media Institute has an opening for a full-time postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a project funded by the EPSRC, entitled Election Debate Visualization (EDV). This is in collaboration with University of Leeds (Stephen Coleman, Professor of Political Communication, Institute of Communications Studies). Your responsibility will be to analyse the TV debates between prime-ministerial candidates, and develop the project’s web platform for replaying the debates in enhanced form, publishing the metadata as an open dataset.
You will work closely with the KMi and Leeds teams on discourse modelling, visualization, user interface design and database design and population, reporting to Professor Simon Buckingham Shum.
