Robot Embodied Presence in House Environment (REPHE)

Robot Embodied Presence in House Environment is an Innovation project aimed to develop

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the dependence and reliance of older adults on the support of their family members on their activities of daily living. This project aims to readapt a Virtual Reality technology from the SME Extended Robotics (ER) for remote control of robotic arms to the context of remote care.

Robot Embodied Presence in House Environment (REPHE) will provide the opportunity to build a strategic collaboration with ER and to investigate the hybridisation of robot autonomy and human control. REPHE will exploit the ongoing EU H2020 GATEKEEPER project to pilot the use of this new technology in a real-life setting and to bring to the market this new solution as part of the European platform GATEKEEPER under development.

REPHE has been supported by the OU through HEIF.
